because the Phans want to know!
Thanks, Rob!
My pleasure...
I thought the playing this night was the best of the run. All of the clutter and out of controlled-ness, false starts, misfires etc. of the previous night were almost entirely absent.
Laid back sublime and spacious playing. The Broken Arrow was Phil gospel-such a treat. From the beginning of the second set on they were just totally in the pocket. We were in a good sweaty froth and everyone around me was grooving hard and smiling huge.
That may have been the most happy and animate I can remember seeing Phil. he was dancing and smiling huge with many wild expressions.
Stairway to Heaven by Stanley was just breath taking and let his true genius shine.our minds were captivated by every note!
My night was made complete by wandering across the parking lot into a beautiful old grateful dead tour schoolbus and chilling out with some beautiful people. so many beautiful classic tour stickers on the windows they looked like stained glass. reminded me of the other half of the grateful dead tour experience-the lot-that was such an integral part of the experience but has largely disappeared. Stanley and Cody even wandered into the bus for a moment, were in awe and had such great energy. That schoolbus took me back man and was the perfect cap on a classic cali run...
I couldn't agree more. They were grooving hard all night.
holy mackarel wish I was there a
