Have they all been this short? Less than 90 minutes is surprising. How was it?

It was a lot of fun but yeah felt a bit short. Never really broke down to any deep deep spaces but lots of fun and danceable grooves with everyone contributing and exploring in each jam. I love these meetings of The Explorers Club, hopefully the next one is soon...

It was a fun night. I thought they had it cranked a bit too loud causing some of the nuance to get lost in the mix.

I enjoyed it. It was great to see Marco up there, he is such a great player and I have been anxiously awaiting him as an official "Friend." He had a pretty basic setup with one piano sounding keyboard and the Hammond, not a lot of his normal keys and toys that he often has (which would have been great for a Telstar night!)

That said while it was a good show I thought it never really got deep like the previous Telstar experiences (I think I've seen them all...) I love Larry and Theresa but they really aren't deep in the psychedelic jazzy space which I have come to associate with Telstar. The night was very much song oriented with some longer than normal jams. Neal sounded great but I was disappointed by Anders' lack of solos. He played a lot of color and had nice vocals on Junco Partner but never really took the helm as he had been doing the last few times I saw him on stage at TC. Wish I was going the next couple of nights, not in the budget, but will be back on Sunday.
