Predictions?
Black Muddy River perhaps,
Maybe some XM which would be nice (that translates to Phil thunder for the 3rd and 4th generation Dead Heads - I'm 53 and 2nd generation),
An extended Truckin' would not surprise me. I haven't heard Bobby sing Desolation Row with conviction since the at the Carrier Dome in um, er, '84 (pre-coma just barely) maybe and that might be nice too and sound like it may be ready.
I'm really grateful to have been alive and a part of all this since 1972 while this music has been written, recorded and played live for me.
First Desolation Row was 3/25/86 at the Rectum ...
I will always dig how much we know about the boys.

Bobby hasn't touched Desolation in a long while, and Furthur isn't really one for busting out songs like that. They will play the same songs as usual.

so much buffering im not sure but I think so although other thread has pride-truckin jam-pride...no idea how accurate that is
I seem to have cleared up some of the buffering issues adding more ram to the Mac and plugging a hardwired RJ45 ethernet cable directly into the router that is plugged into the cable modem bypassing wifi using comcast as the provider
Also jumping between streams although all 3 on at once sounds like an auditorium , Lisa was standing on one leg with a coat hanger and tinfoil attenna and basically we are trying anything at this point

I think we'll hook up Lisa to an old Dish attena , should hook everyone up with sound and fire up the northern lights!
That set was like a condensed show. Beginning of set 1 and end of Set2.
thank you lisa for the team effort and some northern lights sounds very nice right about now...youre in ft Collins I see...I went to csu...and why the hell isn't the crowd noise buffering?
I took the phone footage last year Furthur 9/21/2012 Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1__lkc1Hbs Best regards Rob
nice observation highnote...countless times bucket to open and wharf throwin nfa to close
I watched rob...very nice...wish you were there tonight filming...lisa wouldn't have to stand on one leg too
I'll try and film a few tunes tomorrow as well, security actually stopped me last year. I kind of laughed a bit good thing they weren't on to the tapers section LOL but I think I'll be able to film a few anyway and get away with it. I committed to a golf tournament tomorrow so going to hack it up then go to the show tomorrow night , fun day . I should be spent after all that exercise used to run up and down those stairs all day when I worked there now it is a slow managed ascent hella easier going down the stairs then up these days. Also we can work collaboratively on the set list as who the heck knows what is going to go on with buffering and fading batteries second set but we sincerely appreciate the effort on the transmitting end , whoa especially when the visuals kick in second set. Peace

I've been diggin' deep into late '60s shows, & this St. Stephen, decades from it's inception, clearly sounds like the Good Ol' Grateful Dead way back in the day. Reviving an old prankster phrase, these boys are "in the pudding!" ...still.

I agree with the first Chimenti comment - he's a very good player (and very pleasant guy to talk to) - but he's basically doubling lead guitar parts in a musical context that's known for the guitar sound. One of the several reason the Godcheauxs were asked to move on was that Jerry thought Keith had begun playing the same parts he was - and you can hear it on some of his later shows - at one point I had a bunch of shows playing randomly - I left the room, came back and thought I was listening to Chimenti with Further because he was playing the same guitar originated lead over and over over. When he stopped I heard Jerry and looked - it was a '79 show.
Beautiful day starting in Rome. Great show!

Good night all its been fun ! I need a tyedied couch tour tshirt occupied by dancing couch bears, I'll work on it. Looking forward to being live at Furthur Saturday on the rocks. Peace out Rob and Lisa
I'm a big Chimenti fan and a big JK fan too. I think the band is working seamlessly. I was a big, big Keith fan too and thought te compliment Jerry perfectly and took it further...perhaps why I love Furthur so much. I like the jazzy-out sound.
hey All - does anyone have a review? I made it to the Thursday show and am heading back for Saturday. Thursday was a little mello and slightly slow-tempoed at times. The sound was pretty good though.
Any reviews from anyone that went would be hightly appreciated
Well it's pretty damn late, and I'm pretty damn tired but: Overall great night. Probably my only one this run, so I made the most of it. Really fun 1st set - didn't blow my mind, but still pretty top notch. Wharf Rat was particularly excellent.
2nd set did blow my mind, esp through Fire. Dug Truckin' - nice nod to the popular, and then they fuckin' shredded the jam. Being a Steven myself, St. was awesome. Viola was the whole song. Haven't heard Touch in a looooong time, and it had a nice jam in it, tho' it didn't end the set with the ferocity that opened it.
They sounded kick ass to these old ears. And the general vibe was wonderful.
Very fun, very well played time. They completely fucking wailed on the second set particularly. Really nice sound from my vantage point and they orked whatever buzz what in Bob's gear out from the previous night and Phil's bass was absolutely monstrous, especially during Viola. And the blistering they gave that one during the last break before wrapping it up was sick, just plain sick.
The previous comments about Stephen are very fitting as well. They rocked the shit out of that one and came back from the last jam nicely too, no stutter steps.
Can't wait for tonight. Gonna get in line real early today and get my up front time for once.
I also can't mention enough how much Jeff and Sunshine add to some things. This was my second New Potato and the vocals were wonderful. Attics? Again, my second one and simply wonderful. Better than last time.
x-post from OS:
Pretty good show last night, we were DFC row 37 and had lots of room all night. I expect it to be a little more crowded tonight though.
I felt like the first set never really had any legs until the Throwing Stones > NFA and then it was break time. Pride was definitely the highlight for me though. Probably the highlight of the night. 2nd set started strong with Truckin' > NPC > St Stephen. Phil was absolutely playing the hell out of St Stephen. He was easily playing 3 notes to every 1 note JK played..... Unreal. Birdsong was pissbreak for me but sounded pretty good. Scarlet > Fire was pretty solid last night and really got the crowd back after Birdsong. I loved the trading of solos between Jeff and JK. Viola started VERY strong and the jam was really taking off and then..... well, they just got lost and started to end it altogether. I saw Phil give everyone a signal to keep things going and they headed into touch. Fun, but not my favorite tune. The crowd was into it though. Attics encore was perfect. I am really hoping they up the energy in the first set tonight with maybe a Jack Straw, Bertha, Cumberland or even Big River. Absolutely beautiful weather last night. T-Shirt and shorts all night long without getting hot or cold. PERFECT!
The sound was good (as expected) but Bobby's fucking guitar is WAY WAY too loud. All I can hear sometimes is his noodleing over the rest of the band. Kind of annoying. Phil was slightly low in the mix for the first set but that was definitely not the case in the 2nd set. He was front and center. This is the first time I had heard JK's "new" guitar and boy does it sound good. Just great tone coming from his rig last night.
I am looking foreword to what is in store tonight and hoping for a big TOO loaded with Phil bombs.
Chimenti is too "busy" on the keys. alittle less playing and some more finesse and subtlety would serve him well.
Overall, they are playing as good as they ever had this run!
Great news all around on last night! How it should be right? That's 'FUN' for all involved. I could hear it with no sound from my grey mater library and knew it had its moments of genius, blistering highs and thundering lows we can feel in our sternums. Wish I was there. Might tune in tonight for awhile. Maybe there's a little red rooster somewhere in curve hmm? Is someone please, going to start a thread for this evening? Thanks all - Enjoy it!
clutch u may have called the truckin last night but keep dreamin on the little red bob
