Phil has obvious love for The Tower Theatre = PHILLY love = these next 2 nights are sure to be off the charts!
I'm heading to the Tower tonight
What time did Phil go on last night?
How long did American Jubilee play for?
Thanks
Phun Phact: Phil was sitting in the sound board area while American Jubilee played last night then walked through the crowd when the lights went on to head back stage. Jubilee played for about 40 minutes. Worth seeing. Phil came on at 8:23

Wowzer what a setlist!! Bummed I missed "Little Wing." So I think it's safe to assume then that D&D/Layla is officially done and tonight we'll be moving onto "Eat a Peach" and
a few more songs from perviously performed artists.
Also here's a great featured article in Relix today.

SOTOTW? WTF is that crap? Are we supposed to use acronyms for everything? I've been listening to this music for more than 36 years (1st show in 1977) and got into bootlegs soon thereafter (when LP albums were often the only option); acquiring tapes came in 1979-80. And after all these years I have never seen a SOTOTW. Just plain silly.
I saw the Halloween show and had a good time. But if I read another review talking about how insane this music is I think I'll wretch. It's fun, and I love seeing Phil enjoy himself. But this is ain't the GD and it never will be. (Thank goodness Furthur appears to be calling it quits. Again, good for Weir and Lesh. I love those guys. But that band has sucked the life out of the music.)

Mountain Jam? (or Mountain Song?) How long did they jam that out? Can't wait for Wednesday!
Any other ABB tonight? (or should we anticipate some more Peach on Wednesday? Hopefully??)
EPIC MOUNTAIN JAM to end the show! What a thrill to see this band live, another great show tonight! Funny moment in Unbroken Chain when Phil forgot to turn on his mike, and Graeme had to come over and do it for him - lots of laughter in the band and smiles all around - a senior moment!
Great set list full of Dead tunes and the Allmans was very well received.
EPIC EPIC SHOW !!'

Special moment in Unbroken Chain when Phil stepped up to sing the "Lilac reign" part - he had forgotten to turn on his mike! Graeme steps over and pushes the floor switch for him - Phil starts to sing the verse again! Graeme and Anders share a laugh onstage - Anders surely says "shit, I wasn't gonna tell him it was off!". The crowd cheers and smiles all around.
Luther loves the blues and really poured his soul into Sittin On Top Of The World - when it came time to sing the words he looked like a "deer in the headlights".
Great original song from Ander called Burnin' On The Inside - really rocked out at the end!
Another killer show and the Eat A Peach songs all played well! Les Breres In A Minor and the seminal Mountain Jam both excellent instrumentals. Anders is a maniac onstage and Luther feeds off of that.
American Jubilee has been really entertaining - they covered Cinnamonn Girl last night - IMHO one of the best versions I ever heard. Go see them!
Cumber - I saw you. You were next to Thom (sweater vest). I was the guy in the "PHILLIES" (actually "PHILLESH" maroon tee shirt dancin' 1st row Loge.

A few observations and comments on the show. Numerous Allmans hints and teases throughout the night, beginning with the jam between China and SOTOW - thought Les Brers was coming at that point. SOTOW was the highlight of the first set and Luther was fantastic on this. Really impressed with what he was doing all night.
Anders song Burning on the Inside was a close second to SOTOW even with the Esauesque feel and the jam before the closing chorus sounding suspiciously like Cassidy.
Worst CAT I've ever seen and thankfully it was mercilessly short. Song does not fit this band at all. CAT is a perfect example of how I can see folks not liking this version of PLF. Clear that the band is not familiar with some of the GD catalog and Furthur has many expecting that every band playing GD should play it exactly the way the Dead did. I'd rather they ditch the less familiar/less rehearsed GD stuff in favor of Anders' or Luther's originals or even covers.
NFA had Blue Sky, Little Martha and Melissa teases. Good NFA though the 1 song all night I thought they missed an opportunity to really nail a R&R standard.
Nice high energy 1st set that had most on their feet throughout.
Glad to see a self contained Viola. Jams between the verses were hot, especially b/w the 2nd and 3rd verse - teased Les Brers again at this point only to have it come back around to the 3rd verse.
Unbroken was the low point of the 2nd for me. This one has been so heavy in the rotation and so well done over the last 13 years, the shoes on this one are too big to fill for this group.
The Scarlet through the GDTRFB was outrageously good. The end of Fire into O1 was superb. Great to see an O1 that had some balls.
Was getting late after the S>F and O1 and started to think there would be no time for Mt. Jam. Mt. Jam was fully explored and Phil's bass solo before concluding the tune was a treat. Luther once again tremendous on this. Highlight of the show.
Felt One Way Out would be the perfect encore, but Mt. Jam's sister GDTRFB instead. Luther adding Mt. Jam licks and they ended the show with an energized version.
Fun and upbeat show. Knew from the BB that this is a very solid R&R band with a couple of guys who know there way around the guitar. Never felt they pretended to be anything other than that.
Here's "Burnin On The Inside Out" from the front row..... http://youtu.be/TUXTmNJKT28
SHS Skeptical: SOTOTW is actually an "initialism" (not an acronym). Acronyms must be able to be pronounced as another word, whereas initialisms are abbreviations that are pronounced by saying each of the letters individually.
Please verify if you'd like: http://data.grammarbook.com/blog/abbreviations/abb reviations-acronyms-and-initialisms-revisited/
Now that we cleared that up, these initialisms are fairly commonly used in this setting, especially when someone is kind enough to go out of their way at the show posting the near real-time setlist song by song, doing a favor for anyone who couldn't be the show.
BTW I loved all of these great songs that were played last night throughout the show (get out your decoder ring!):
