I thought weds night was killer!!!!!!!!! many highlights they locked in many times wow
from all I heard,Wed was not nearly as good as thurs or fri, and I thought thurs was by far superior!
oops i meant thursday with doin that rag and scarlet>fire wow so thurs is the night ive got lots of copies on cdr of that one already anyone want to trade?????
scar>Fire, terrap>gdtr>china>rider thats what you call meat and potatoes!!!all in the same set
I spent most of Thursday's second set shaking my head and muttering "wow" to myself. Beautiful stuff.
i wanted to wait til i heard the other 2 nights but i'm gonna have to jump on and say Thursday as well . i'm still feeling waves from this one
Thursday, hands-down. 2nd set was incredible, and I thought the first set was also great. With the exception of Doin That Rag, none of the 1st set tunes were songs I would have listed as being things I really wanted to hear. But, the uptempo FOTD was tasty, and Alabama Getaway, which I was distinctly NOT fond of during the years I was going to Dead shows, was great - Warren and Jimmy have that Southern Rock thang going on that really lends itself to this type of song.
The 2nd set speaks for itself. Stellar.
Thursday was almost all Grateful Dead songs. I thought it was great although I liked when Phil used to sing Fire on the Mountain(vibes '02, Columbus '01), but I guess that would have meant that Phil would have sang three songs in a row; Scarlet>Fire>Lady w/Fan. I still liked Rob better than Mickey on vocals, so if that is how Phil wants to arrange it that is fine. I thought it might be cool if Rob, Warren, and Phil all got a verse. Yet no Warren on vocals(only backup).
I liked night 3 the best, night 1 second, and night 2 third. Night one might have been the edgiest and most 'underwater' psychaldelic. But night three was the payoff with the much anticipated Comes a Time with the full Warren recovery...not to mention personal favorite versions of Mts. of Moon, Keep on Growin', and Unbroken Chain.
You really needed to attend all three. They were all special and unique in their own ways.
thursday -
i thought set II was among the best sets of live music i've heard in my life. It was nothing short of amazing.
They were all a pleasure, many highlights throughout. Go Philco. Good music and good company.
I know which one sure as hell wasn't the hottest. Wanna guess which one that was?
Anybody wanna BnP me all 3 shows? Love to take 2nd takes, with a clear head.
Bump!!!
