The Real Thing
Heard the St. Stephen was like the '03 style! Whole show sounded like they havent missed a beat.
Hope to see some west coast Q shows in the months (and years) to come
Yeah, where is all the chatter about the show? It was great!
So the last time I was here I saw Jimmy Connors destroy Ken Rosewall in the '74 Open. I also saw Chrissie Evert who I had a big crush on. It's a shame what's happened to tennis but that's another story.
I would go back to FH for a show. Thought they did a good job. Never a wait for bathroom, just porta-potties, but 1000's of them. No food or drink lines, and little security. The only thing is parking - I just missed out on a couple of street spots, so forked over 20 bills for garage.
After the show I laid a two dollar bill I happened to have on the attendant, who snapped right to attention and brought the car out immediately. Smooth sailing home, too, although it's Queens and in another situation it could be real crowded.
My friend got floor seats in a presale but then we put in for tix and fortunately snagged a great spot in the side stands (and dumped the floors). Ok it wasn't exactly the perfect spot but nice to have a seat, especially because I have a bad knee (a tennis injury in fact :-)).
I would say the show was to be expected for a one-off, a reunion of sorts. Big songs, not particularly jammmed-out, but well-done. Good to see Herring, Haynes, Headband, and Molo sharing the stage again.
Actually I think I enjoyed Night of 1000 Stars the most, simply because that's when I was seeing this band every night in 2001-2003, and I always liked it. So I'm putting that up first, for the old-time Zoners, but Dew and Stephen are pretty good too.

Georgie1 nailed it.
Show started of solid, no time to warm up, just jumped in right away. likes they never parted.
so fuckin tight, whole show was sweet, bought me back to them early Beacon snowstorm shows, god I love this lineup, IMO The Day in The Life was so groovy,no lyrics just sweet licks=yum
Listening to the tapes now at home with my Dog with the rain falling sounds so sweet. Looked like Phil was enjoying himself, as usual. Nice touch at the end giving thanks to all, but adding Warren "Fucking" Haynes, However all members were Fn A

PS-Good Vibes to Bobby= so we can C U with Phil again
VERY Hot, inspiring, magical, sweet, powerful, rockin show..COOL security..small intimate stadium and at the end no one was in the stands on the right or left sides..the security let tons of people( including ourselves) onto the floor..and no one hassled, pushed, or talked incessantly.Jimmy, Warren were on top of their game....What a wonderful venue and night! IF you have read my previous reviews..I don't rave easily..The Q is IT!
Venue was fine....no problems at all. The band surpassed all of my expectations. Still smiling!
Such a good time! A night to let the good times roll and ease our soul
EVERY song was jammmed!! both sets smoked, first set more for me. the band sounded like they never stopped playing together. a day in the life was awesome. terrapin was olod style- which i like but i lkie both versions that they do. the venue was super cool, as was the nieghborhood- noone giving the fans any trouble. plenty of smiles. my friwends and i said it reminded us of cooperstown in a lot of ways. i hope they come back and drop some more of the best phil lesh and friends ensemble of all time on us!!!!
The Eleven: http://youtu.be/mjLM5z0nkqo
6 minutes in The Eleven teases Foxy Lady for a little over a minute.
Excellent jam
more PLQ more PLQ more PLQ
Forest Hills.....who knew?! what a great venue to see music.
THANKS PHIL!
Hard for me to pick highlights from last night rage fest there were too many. Sick show, old school PLQ feel and a beefy setlist. Not sure if it was the slip coming out of O1 or going into but holy shit some insanity going on during that. Too many zoners to name. Good Times.
God....
I love this band!
Ditto. More Q. They always come through. Miss them a lot.
What a great night! I feel so fortunate to see the Q again. My favorite configuration never fails to push the envelope and make this soo much more than a nostalgic look back..it redefines the music..the tribe...the world!!
More Q please!!
Of course I was not there but Warren and Jimmy though exceptional players, seem to me to be on a different course than other lead players. Something I perceive as lacking. Not in talent but in sound, groove, style, something. Am I wrong?
Raymond, you are very very wrong. The Q is the ultimate Grateful Dead jamband hands down!
hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!
