Wow - what a Phenomenal month it's been for this community, and the East Coast scene!

My first show at this venue was the start of Furthur's 9-night run in April last year (4/15/13). Although the magic & homey feeling of that evening will always have a special place in my heart, it's incredible to see how much Phil & Peter Shapiro have developed the concept since then.

It goes without saying that the upkeep on the theater has been outstanding, and the transformation of Garcia's into a full-blown after-party has been a great addition to the overall vibe of the venue - love walking out into the Lobby and seeing that big picture of Jerry @ the Greek on the wall to the left, with music blasting from the bar named in his honor :-)

I think it should also be mentioned that the ushers and security of the Cap are some of the best I have ever been around. They do a great job at helping out & keeping things safe, while still letting everybody have fun, and expressing a kind understanding of the fan base taboot.

I had a wonderful experience at all four of the shows I was able to attend (10/31, 11/1, 11/15, 11/29), and loved the ability to stream the enjoyment from home when I couldn't get there!

All this is to say, at the beginning of our Season of Thanks, how Grateful I am for the consistently high-level experiences Phil & Shapiro were able to share with us this month, and really all of this year. From Queens to Central Park, Brooklyn & Port Chester, Heads in the Northeast have had nothing to complain about in 2014 (except maybe ticket prices haha).

I am tremendously excited for the impending juggernaut of the PhilRAD NYE Run, and hopefully more to come in this auspicious 50th Anniversary year that awaits ahead of us.

Take care everyone, and hope to see you on New Year's!

By the way...

This show was great - Stu Allen really shined, and it was great to see Joan with Phil for the first time.

My only critical observation was of the performance & professionalism of Anders Osborne, particularly during the first set. Did anybody else notice that this guy seemed to be having a lot of fun up there? Maybe TOO much fun?

I felt like his tone (vocally & on guitar) suffered during that segment of the show, and he frequently played over his band-mates during jams. I also saw him taking verses off all together during New Speedway Boogie, and missing lyrics (including a whole verse of "Mr. Charlie" that Joan bailed him out on) with the sheet music right in front of him. I was not surprised to see Stu Allen featured more prominently in the second set.

I've seen Anders play with Phil before, and have been very impressed generally. I just can't help but feeling - despite my girfriend's chiding that I should be more positive - that his approach to his performance on this evening was a little too casual given the circumstances (last night of a tremendous residency, historic theater with GD roots, Phil playing said theater, etc).

Am I crazy???

Thanks (again), Mike, for putting this up and making it easier to find the setlist(s)....
I noticed that the onstage setlist said that the (double?) encore was:
Mts. of the Moon
Attics
I haven't listened to the show yet. Did they not do the Mountains...?
