Phil Lesh & Friends continued honoring 50 years of Grateful Dead at Terrapin Crossroads last night in San Rafael, California with a show billed as a tribute to 1968... [performing] the same setlist the Grateful Dead used on February 14, 1968 at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco. A recording of the Dead's February 14, 1968 performance was released in 2009 as Road Trips Volume 2, No. 2.

The evening started with Phil sharing stories from 1968 including about the recording of Anthem of the Sun. From there, Lesh and his ensemble went about recreating the classic Valentine's Day performance with Ross James and Stu Allen handling most of the vocals. Grahame Lesh also contributed vocals to the evening, as he led the band through the second set opener - the entire "That's It For The Other One" suite. Phil dedicated the second set to Neal Cassady, the Merry Prankster who died 10 days before the Grateful Dead took the stage at Carousel Ballroom on February 14, 1968. The band honored the spirit of 1968 by infusing tons of psychedelic jams into the mix throughout the evening.
