Figured this should be up here by now. Please post the setlist if you can recall.
Very solid show for the price point.
From what I recall-
7:25pm
Set 1:
tuning / jam >
the elevator (particle) >
jam >
??? a ton of quotes and jams that I lost track of and didn't write down. I hope somebody else has an idea and can fill in the bulk of the quotes and lines they threw in there.
Set ends at 8:35. Band hugs, bows and leaves stage. House lights come on and folks exit, given really nice silkscreened prints on the way out by Jacob Souik of Thumb Print Press. Signed and numbered out of 420, it's on a nice paper stock and has a split fountain background with a singled screen print on top.
After the venue clears out, the band returns on stage at like 8:55 and plays until 9:30.
Encore(?):
Scarlet>
Fire (very slow, almost dubby - vocal echo effects used)
Viola Lee Blues
Donor Rap (Phil says something along the lines of "We broke conventions tonight")
Band Introductions
Cody Dickinson: Drums
Steve Molitz: Keys
Scott Law: Guitar
Lebo: Guitars
Phil: Bass
thanks for posting Unc!!, I need all the help I can get - truly!!
if any can flesh out the details.
plus I am STILL missing
06.28.14 Telstar @ TXR ... :-(
and for the record
06.03.14 - Karaoke, TXR, Phil was supposedly part of this.
THANKS YA'LL!!
Fire must have been like the one at the cap in the fall, different to say the least not everyone's cup of tea.
OK I 'll say something so at least I can remember it in a few years down the road. This was a confused fun and weird set> into WTF??(is it over??) Into BIG TIME FUN with one of the most interesting and ass-shaking Scarlet>>>Fire's I have yet to experience. Then the deconstructing before our ears Viola...I love the weird and chaos and this was all that and some damn fine company. I never left and told everyone that asked my opinion to wait, I somehow missed the posters (a kind Zoner did end up grabbing me one on my way out, thx again) but I did not feel it was quite done yet, mostly because there hadn't been a donor rap yet. I don't get to the Crossroad as much as I'd like but I am thankful for these weird little Sunday night musical excursions...oh and I made this while waiting for show time so I might as well show it somewhere
This Telestar show is up on youtube...

I've watched a lot of this performance. Wow.
In my own humble opinion, I think this about the most interesting music Phil has done in a very very long time.
The Telstar stuff is so refreshing to my ears.
This is where the magic happens. Throw out most of the songs and just make noise. It's not all jammy and noodling either. Also dig the slowing down of the tempo. Love it.
Beautiful Canyon!!! I got to hang with Lisa during the Tuesday show at Zodiacs, missed you brother, hope to see you soon, love Bruce! PS Thanks Lisa for being so nice to my friend Randy,it was her first DNB show, and she felt THE LOVE!!!!!!!
